Lisa Schniederjan

Lisa Schniederjan, MA, LPC, is a co-partner with Discoveries Christian Counseling Center in Coppell, TX, and has over 13 years experience serving the Dallas community and 15 years experience as a therapist. 

 

 Discoveries Christian Counseling Center was founded by her mother, Diana Morin, LPC-S, LMFT, who has over 30 years' experience serving the Dallas community.

 

Lisa is a Licensed Professional Counselor through the State of Texas, and a member of the Catholic Psychological Association. Lisa is also EMDR trained.

Inspired by her mother's ministry as a therapist, Lisa decided, at age 7, to follow in her footsteps and pursue a career in counseling as well. 

​

Lisa's view of the human person has been greatly influenced by Pope John Paul II's Theology of the Body. She has completed five courses with the Theology of the Body Institute. Lisa has also received special training from the JPII Healing Center and loves integrating inner healing prayer techniques when appropriate. 

 

Lisa has been involved in mentoring others through ministry in the Church since she was 14 years old.  While Lisa has experience working with clients of all ages and genders, she has a heart for women and loves bringing women into wholeness and healing.

Therapeutic Approach

 

Lisa believes that our souls are like beautiful vases intended to receive, contain, and pour forth God’s love and grace. In our imperfect world, our soul can form deep cracks where our hearts have been broken and wounds have formed. To fully receive all the love and grace God wants to lavish upon us, we must repair the cracks in the foundation.

 

This is where professional Christian counseling can be helpful. Counseling is a partnership where we work to repair these cracks so that grace can build on nature and we can have “life and live it to the full” (John 10:10). 

 

Unlike some therapies that only focus on diagnosis and alleviation of symptoms, Lisa looks at each person as a whole, not the sum of his or her symptoms. This unique approach allows her to quickly identify the underlying root cause of a person's suffering and then work to help them receive the healing and resources necessary to transform their most significant suffering into their greatest triumph.

When she’s not working with clients, Lisa loves raising her two young sons with her husband, Jeff. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with girlfriends, working out at Pure Barre, attending Bible study, and visiting her sister at the beach.
